Dorothy Virginia Brown Lunn Fitzgerald, age 88, former resident of Apache Trail and long time resident of Sowell Mill Pike, passed away on Saturday December 25, 2010, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, with Reverend Calvin Lunn and Reverend Terry Peery officiating. Burial will follow in Hardison Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Monday, December 27, 2010 from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Born in Maury County, she was one of thirteen children born to the late Joe and Amanda Brown. She grew up in the Rally Hill community. She was a member of West Point Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a former member of Union Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Fitzgerald was retired after working many years as a seamstress, first with the Davis Shop, and later at Kay’s Dress Shop. She had the gift of a green thumb and received much pleasure from her flowers and garden. She was an excellent cook, but her specialty was “the best biscuits on earth.”

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Willis Lunn; second husband, Ulna Fitzgerald; one daughter, Lorene (James) Connelly; and one son, Herbert (Mildred) Lunn; seven brothers, Mayhue Brown, Anderson Brown, Herbert Brown, Earl Brown, Carl Ed Brown, T.R. Brown, and J.D. Brown; and two sisters, Margie Tomlin and Maxine Kincaid.
Survivors include six daughters: Edith (Grady) Sharp, Columbia, TN; Ivie (Frank) Harris, Columbia, TN; Betty (Gordon) Lentz, Columbia, TN; Mary Frances “Tasy” Bolton, Columbia, TN; Martha Jones, Mt. Pleasant, TN; and Pam (Michael) Davis, Mt. Juliet, TN; and one son, Andy (Wanda) Lunn, Lewisburg, TN, plus 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by two sisters, Norma Jean (Joe) Duvall, Columbia, TN, and Faye (Jack) Weaver, Spring Hill, TN; and one brother, Jimmy Brown, Arkadelphia, AR.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Mark Sharp, Wayne Lunn, Randall Harris, Tim Lunn, Terry Clymore, David Lunn, Tommy Lentz, Kyle Bolton, Thomas Lunn, Heath Lunn, Joshua Jones, and Jesse Conner.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of West Point and Union Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Churches.
