Mr. Carlos Erwin, age 56, retired, and a lifelong resident of the Bigbyville community, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 in Columbia, Tennessee.


A memorial service will be held 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Heritage Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the service time.

A native of Maury County he was the son of late Floyd Alexander Erwin and Vivian Ralston Erwin. Carlos was a member of the Bigbyville United Methodist Church. Carlos liked to talk about the latest topic and sports with everyone. He loved to cook and look for antiques. He was a 1973 graduate of Columbia Central High where he was active in football.

He is survived by his two sons, Justin Erwin and John Erwin of New Orleans, one sister, Mary (Tim) Shannon, of Columbia, and two brothers, Thomas (Marie) Erwin, of Linden, TN; Danny (Dana) Erwin of Crossville, TN. One Sister-in-law, Susan Erwin of Columbia, along with several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Joe A Erwin and Johnny P Erwin; and a niece, Bethany Erwin.

Honorary pallbearers will be CHS class of 1973, Wayne Stacy, Gary Swindle, Dennis Turner, Luis Sweeney, Kenny Hanvy, Benny Bolton, Buddy Harris, Clyde Harris, Wayne Hickman, along with the Friends from Wayne's Country Store, and the neighbors and friends of the Bigbyville and McCains Community.
