Michael Alan Shelton

October 14, 1953 - February 11, 2011

Mr. Michael Alan Shelton, age 57, husband of Linda Lawrence Shelton, and a resident of Chestnut Drive in Columbia passed away on Friday, February 11, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee.


Funeral services for Mr. Shelton will be held on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Parkway Baptist Church, 1500 Tom J. Hitch Parkway, with Rev. Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens next to Heritage Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends on Sunday, February 13, 2011 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements and assisting the family.

A native of Indiana, Mr. Shelton was the son of Phyllis Long Shelton Mooney, (Mother) and the late Clifford Earl Shelton, (Father) He worked in factories and manufactured parts. He enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching birds. He took pleasure with his wood working, was a member of Parkway Baptist Church, and he loved his family. In addition to his wife Linda of Columbia and his mother Phyllis Shelton of Nashville, he left behind to cherish his memory; two sons in Columbia; Lee Alan Shelton and Jason Matthew McDonald, one daughter in Columbia; Jessica Lynn Himes, one step-son of Mt. Pleasant, TN; Danny Burgett, one sister of Nashville; Diana Armstrong (Albert), one sister in Columbia; Teresa Thompson (Kenneth) and one brother in McMinnville, TN; Clifford Shelton, Jr. (Nancy).

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father; Clarence Mooney.

Pallbearers will be Mr. Shelton’s nephews.
