Mrs. Merrel H. Klein, age 92, wife of Henry B. Klein, and a resident of Heather Lane in Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, April, 5, 2011 at NHC Healthcare of Columbia with her loving husband of 59 years right down the hall from her.
A memorial service for Mrs. Klein will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Hubert Cunningham officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Mrs. Klein was born in Benton County, Arkansas to the late Maud Baldwin and the late Edward Forgey. She moved to Middle Tennessee from Rogers, Arkansas in 2003. She had previously worked as a secretary for FMC Corp in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and was a member of St. Paul’s Methodist church in Cedar Rapids. She was a very reserved lady, quiet, never raised her voice, and a very sweet lady. Mrs. Klein love to quilt with her sister-in-laws, do China painting, was very prolific and volunteered at hospitals.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Klein is survived by her daughter; Joyce (William) White of Columbia, TN; three grandchildren; Mark (Laura) Strait of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Teresa (Sean) Mullally of Memphis, TN; and Jeffrey (Toni) Overturf of Belfair, WA; six great-grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces.
