Cecil Dale Wood

June 11, 1953 - May 13, 2011

Mr. Cecil Dale Wood, age 57, formerly of Columba and a current resident of Campbellsville, Tennessee, passed away suddenly at a friend’s house on Friday, May 13, 2011.

Funeral Services for Mr. Wood will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Saturday, May 28, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM; concluding with a prayer service at 8:00 PM. They will also visit with friend on Sunday from 11:30 AM until the funeral hour. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements.

A native of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, he was the son of the late Myrland Harrison Wood and the late Norma Faye (Collins) Wood. He was a welder by trade and worked with Pioneer Manufacturing in Spring Hill, Tennessee. He had such a loving and gentle spirit that his family said they couldn’t ever remember him ever raising his voice. His laid back personality fit right in with his love for hunting and fishing. He truly loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. His gifts, love, and stories will be cherished by all of his family and friends.

He left behind to cherish his memory his three sisters: Sharon Stone of Columbia, TN, Terry (Scott) Rooker of Campbellsville, KY, and Tina (Jr.) Goins of Litchfield, KY; three brothers: Larry (Donna) Collins and Gary (Marcia) Milby both of Campbellsville, KY, and Russell Wood of CA ; one step-brother, Robert (Barbara) Moore of Campbellsville, KY; loving nephews and nieces: Lisa Howell, Patrick Collins, Adam Milby, Karen Milby, Cassie Rooker, Crystal Rooker, and Michael Wood and Nicholas Wood; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
