Leonard William Dierking

May 23, 1933 - November 20, 2011

Mr. Leonard W. Dierking, age 78, husband of Mary (Darlinger) Dierking for 50 years, and a resident of Lewisburg passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at his residence.

The family has chosen to keep the arrangements private. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements and assisting the family.

A native of Chicago, Illinois; Leonard was born to the late Leroy Dierking (Father) and Mildred (Heinlein) Dierking (Mother). He attended Roosevelt Military Academy in Aledo, Illinois and graduated as a Major over all of the cadets. He was very athletic: playing football, basketball and track. Aledo Illinois has a museum memorializing some of his accomplishments. He loved camping, boating, and flying remote control air planes. He also built rockets with his children and loved snowmobiling with them. He worked until he was 74 and after retirement he loved to play on the computer. He was a wonderful and honest man and will be missed by all that knew him.

In addition to his wife, he left behind to cherish his memory; one daughter, Donna Marie Parsons of Smyrna, TN; one son, Leonard Michael Dierking of Cape Coral, Florida; one twin brother, Leroy Dierking; ten grand-children and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents; Leonard was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Schofield.

Condolences may be sent to the family at the Heritage Funeral Home website; www.tnFunerals.com
