Mr. Jerry Lynn Haddock, husband of Sara Lentz Haddock and father of Christopher Keith Haddock and Gregory Lentz Haddock passed away on Friday morning December 9, 2011 at his residence on Roseland Drive in Columbia, TN following an extended illness.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, TN. A funeral service for Mr. Haddock will be held on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Russ Adcox officiating, and with reflections and personal comments by John Mark Hicks and Cowboy Dan Harrell. Interment will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens.
A native of Sheffield Alabama, he was the son of the late Christopher Lee Haddock and Ocie Holt Haddock. He attended the Church of Christ his entire life and was an active member of Maury Hills Church of Christ in Columbia. Jerry Haddock served as a deacon heading up the bus ministry and missions committee at Highland Church of Christ.
In his career he specialized in Industrial Electricity, Electronics, and Maintaining Industrial Machinery for Monsanto, General Electric, and Superior Essex Corporations.
Well known in the area as an outstanding high school basketball player, he was offered a scholarship to the University of North Alabama. As an adult he continued to play basketball on company leagues. Mr. Haddock was an avid golfer and received many trophies for the tournaments he won.
In addition to his loving wife he leaves behind two sons: Dr. Christopher Keith Haddock (wife Dr. Risa Haddock) of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Gregory Lentz Haddock of Columbia, Tennessee. He has two grandchildren: Justin Christopher Haddock and Alayna Lian Haddock. Also, he is survived by a brother Bobby Lee Haddock in Mt Pleasant, Tennessee.
Pallbearers will be Don Westmorland, Danny Wise, Paul Breeden, Mike Vaughn, Don Howell, Bobby Thurman, David Glasgow, Ashley Brown, C. T. Johnson and Sherriff Enoch George.
Honorary pallbearers with be his many nieces and nephews along with his friends from Monsanto Corporation, General Electric Corporation, Superior Essex Corporation, and his Church friends.
