Gerald Haywood

August 8, 1945 - December 10, 2011

Mr. Gerald Haywood, age 66, and a resident of Knob Creek Road in Columbia, TN passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 12, 2011 in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Slentz officiating. Interment will follow at the Knob Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the funeral home and again on Monday from 11:00 AM until the 1:00 PM service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Mr. Haywood is a Maury County native and was a life-long resident of Knob Creek Road. He was the son of the late Ola Mae (Hay) Haywood (Mother), and the late James Bernard Haywood (Father). He attended Central High School in Columbia and was a member of the 61st Ave Methodist Church in Nashville. He worked in maintenance for Laska. He loved off-road riding, yard sales, and was dearly devoted to his family.

He is survived by his daughter; Sheryl (David) Upchurch of Culleoka, two sisters; Sue (Andy) Meeker of Nashville, TN and Joyce Eidson of White House, TN, two brothers; Dorris (Peggy) Haywood and Oscar (Nancy) Haywood, three grandchildren; Kayla Upchurch, Kimberly Upchurch, and Kyle Upchurch, along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents; Mr. Haywood was preceded in death by a daughter; Kay Haywood and a brother, David Jasper Haywood.

Family will serve as pallbearers and the Honorary Pallbearers will be doctors & nurses at Maury Regional Medical Center.
