Mrs. Retha “Jeanne” Briden, age 62, wife of Harley Briden, and a resident of Valley Creek Road in Culleoka, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday December 21, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday December 21, 2011 from 12:00 PM until the service hour. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and is in charge of the arrangements.

A native of China Lake, California, she was the daughter of the late James Jerry Hamrick and the late Gladys Hazel (Dill) Hamrick. She worked in food services in the Los Angeles County School System in California. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She loved collecting sea shells, spoons and pins. She was very involved with her family and loved them dearly, especially her grandchildren. She never met a stranger and helped many children through the years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her loving husband Harley of over 42 years, she left to cherish her memory four daughters: Melissa Jean Briden, Sherry Mae Briden, Christy Leigh Bennett, and Gina Marie Hayes all of Columbia, TN; four grandchildren: Danielle Hayes, Ashleigh Bennett, Caleb Bennett, and Shelby Briden all of Columbia, TN; two great-grandchildren: Raelyn Sampsel and Khailey Sampsel both of Columbia, TN; and one sister: April Lavonda (Michael) Cockerham of Reno, NV.
