Mrs. Claudine G. Perkins, age 85, a resident of Pinehurst Drive in Columbia passed away at her residence on Friday, December 23, 2011.

A visitation for Mrs. Perkins will be held on Monday, December 26, 2011 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. A visitation from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Arkansas. A funeral service will be held at Emerson Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM with interment to follow in the Trinity Cemetery in Bono, Arkansas.

Born in Monetta, Arkansas on December 30, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Ruth and James Humphrey. She married Robert Lloyd Perkins on February 7th, 1946 and they were married for 22 years before he passed away. She was a very ambitious lady. She prided herself in the fact that she went back to school and received her GED in 1972. She farmed half of her lifetime, then she worked in sales and went on to become a Nurses Aid in a nursing home. She was an accomplished baker too. She loved to dance, enjoyed reading and playing cards. She was a very friendly, giving, and kindhearted lady. She raised 7 children and 2 grandchildren. She attended Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Billy Brown, on Highway 31in Columbia, Tennessee, until she was not longer physically able to attend church. Although she will greatly be missed by all of her friends and family, her legacy of love will continue.

She left behind to cherish her memory 5 daughters: Connie Jones of Jonesboro, AR, Bonnie Derryberry of Ft. Myers, FL, Joyce Cantu of Shelbyville, TN, Mary Aldrich of Columbia, TN and Christine Brown Taylor of Dickson, TN; 2 sons: Harold "Pete" Perkins of Ore City, TX and Joe Perkins of Jonesboro, AR; 5 sisters: Willie Mae Kimberly, Bobbie Fountain, Ruth Farmer, Dorothy Turner and Audry Tyler, 2 brothers: James & Emmitt; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-greatgrandchild.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Carl & Tom Humphrey.

Pallbearers will include: Nick Jones, Terry Cantu, Rocky Perkins, Austin Derryberry, Donnie Aldrich, Robert Bailey.
