Mr. Chambers was born in Hickman, KY on May 10, 1930 to the late Harry Willis and Willie Mae Chambers. He married Johnnie in August of 1953, and they had two boys that he loved. Two's seemed to be their thing; 2 boys, 2 grandchildren, & 2 great-children and those six were part of what kept him going. His hobbies and interest were quite varied; he fished, he hunted, he like to barbeque and then taught himself to play the harmonica, violin, and thoroughly enjoyed playing music. He loved that music so much, that he became good friends with the renowned harmonica player, Lonnie Glosson and they spent many hours together playing music. Other varied interest included loving horses and chickens.
When so many from his generation could not, W. C. was blessed to graduate high school and went on to attend college. He then enjoyed a successful professional life in the finance world and owned a chain of financial institutions during his career before he retired. Mr. Chambers was affiliated with the Pentecostal faith and a member of the United Pentecostal Church.
Mr. Chambers is leaving behind two sons; Corey Chambers of Columbia and Wendell Chambers of West Tennessee, two sisters; Aline Neace of Camden, TN and Mizellia Hammonds of Martin, TN, two grandchildren; Willis Calvin Chambers and Wendy Catherine Chambers both of Columbia, two great-grandchildren; William Chad Chambers of Lynnville, TN and Shawn Chambers of Columbia along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by nine siblings, three brothers; James Wayne Chambers, Bobby Gene Chambers, and Ancel Chambers, six sisters; Laverne Chambers, Doris Hatler, Violet Wright, Edna Campbell, Helen McColgan, and Ruby Hastings.
