Ivan Stoklasa

February 20, 1931 - February 11, 2012

Ivan Lee Stoklasa, youngest son of Fred and Myrtle Mitchell Stoklasa, was born February 20, 1931 in Mercer County, Missouri.

He departed this life on February 11, 2012 in Columbia, Tennessee where he had lived for the past year and nine months. While he missed his friends and relatives in Missouri, he was very happy in his home in Tennessee.

He met Jim and Rachel Lucas (Jehovah’s Witness) and studied the Bible each week and was comfortable with his belief in the resurrection in a new life. Ivan worked many vocations and was master of many occupations. He loved his family and was always willing to help anyone he could.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 56 years: Shirley; one son: Bill Stoklasa (wife Dawn) of Culleoka, Tennessee; daughters: Willa McLaughlin (husband Steve) of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and Wanda Stoklasa (husband Thomas Trice) of Nebraska City, Nebraska.
Grandchildren: Annie Gorham (husband Jimmie) of Cameron, Missouri, Angie Stoklasa of Columbia, Tennessee, Amber Smith (husband Kenny) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Abraham Stoklasa of Nashville, Tennessee, Christy Houser (Jeff Ottsman) of Columbia, Tennessee, Joey Houser (wife Nicole) of Columbia, Tennessee, Carley Houser of Culleoka, Tennessee, Dillon McLaughlin and Olis McLaughlin of Denver, Colorado, Marcus Trice (wife Ashley) of Nebraska City, Nebraska, Xavier Trice of York, Nebraska and Patricia Trice of Nebraska City, Nebraska.
Great Grandchildren: Wyatt Morris, Dakota Morris, Bobby Morris, Knox Smith, Quentin Trice, Chase Morris, Jake Morris, Shelby Gorham, Christopher Gorham, and Madison Gorham, and Sam Ottsman; and a niece: Shirley Andrews of Allerton, Iowa.
His cremated remains will be buried on February 24, 2012 with military honors in the Bohemia Cemetery in Cainsville, Missouri. The family will have a reception and time of visitation following in Cainsville. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements and assisting the family.

His occupations included: farmer, construction work, race car builder and mechanic. He traveled with “Wild Bill’s Opry” and sold souvenirs and visited with everyone. He was a great fisherman, wood worker and craftsmen, and popcorn maker. He served in Berlin, Germany from 1952 to 1954 with the Korean conflict. He loved fast cars and enjoyed driving them, along with his four wheelers.
