Rubye Mae Mitchell

March 5, 1935 - February 24, 2012

Mrs. Rubye Mae Mitchell, age 76, a resident of Goodloe Street in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012 following a courageous battle with cancer.

A private memorial service will be held for Mrs. Mitchell at a later date at the Hamilton City Cemetery in Hamilton, Alabama. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements.
Born in Fulton, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Vernice Underwood and the late Cumy Reynolds. She was of the Baptist faith. She retired from the Board of Education in Hamilton, Alabama. This loving, caring and strong willed lady dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren who were the joy of her life. Her love and kindness will truly be missed by all of her family and friends.

She left behind to cherish her memory a two sons: Roger Mitchell of Columbia, TN and Phillip (Tye Tye) Davis of Mt. Pleasant, TN; a daughter, Sandra Mitchell of Columbia, TN; a brother, Charlie Underwood of Zion, IL; and three grandchildren: Devin Mitchell, Loren Mitchell and Miranda Mitchell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lamont Mitchell, two sons: Alan Davis and Jeffrey Mitchell, and siblings: Travis Underwood and Dorothy Sheffield.

The family would like to express thanks to Jennifer Scroggins, Andrea Tate, Charlene LeBlanc, Maria Overton and the staff of the SNU unit at Maury Regional Medical Center.
