A native of Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Samuel Snipes and the late Lucille (Holt) Snipes. She was a member of the East Side Church of God. She was a loving and devoted wife, grandmother, and sister as her family was the joy of her life. As her family reminiscence, they recalled how she loved antiques and enjoyed cooking and gardening; but there was one thing that took precedence over those things and that was shopping. If anyone ever loved to shop, it definitely was her. Her kind and loving ways will truly be missed and felt by all those who knew and loved her. Heaven has just gotten a little bit brighter as she has just made her entrance into that city.

In addition to her husband of 59 years, she left behind to cherish her memory three sons: Danny Mathers, and Ira Joe (Ann) Mathers, Sr. both of Columbia, TN and Randy (Colleen) Mathers, Sr. of Midway, GA; two sisters: Lois Snipes and JoAnn Armstrong both of Columbia, TN and one brother, Mark Anthony Snipes of Midway, GA; three aunts: Virginia Harris of Nashville, TN, Pauline Symlar of Columbia,TN and Anna Biffle of Columbia, TN; one brother-in-law Michael (Kathy) Garner of Nashville, TN; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

Her loving grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Terry Gene Snipes.
