Carol Ann Griggs, age 59 of the Bethel Community of Maury County, passed away at her Raleigh Beard Rd. residence on Friday morning, March 16, 2012.
At her request, she will be buried privately at the Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
A native of Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Rulen V. Griggs and Mrs. Lillian J. Humphrey Griggs of the Bethel Community. Carol worked for Spontex until its closing. She found solace in the development and creation of the pond on her farm. She personally created the beautiful landscaping and rockwork, as well as the design for the pond. “Carol could fix anything,” recalls her sisters. She could take any piece of trash and turn it into a treasured heirloom. Her hands had the touch that would create masterpieces. With an engineer’s mind, she was constantly thinking and was always challenging herself with figuring out more difficult issues. Carol will also be remembered for the Arabian horses she raised.
In addition to her mother: Lillian Humphrey Griggs of the Bethel Community, she is survived by two sisters: Sandra Griggs (Mike) Smiley of Ashland City, TN and Lynn Griggs (Mike) Davis of Franklin, TN; nieces and nephews: Daylan (Keshia) Davis of Fairview, Lathan Davis of Fairview, and Karla (David) Yarbrough of Nashville; and great-nieces and great-nephews: Hunter Davis, Landon Davis and Kimberly Yarbrough.
Memorial donations may be sent to the Bethel Rescue Squad, c/o Larry Fox, 7089 Old Natchez Trace, Santa Fe, TN, 38482 or the Humane Society, 2100 L Street NW, Washington, DC, 20037.
Condolences may be sent to the family through the link at the top of this page.
