Stella Diane Tomlin

September 15, 1941 - April 9, 2012

Stella Diane Tomlin, age 70, of Columbia, passed away at NHC Hillview on Monday, April 9, 2012.

Mrs. Tomlin was born Stella Diane Holman on Sept. 15, 1941 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was one of seven children of James and Genevieve Nelson Holman, a homemaker, and a member of the West 7th Street Church of Christ in Columbia. The family will celebrate her life with private memorial services at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Tomlin moved to Columbia thirteen years ago to live with her daughter, Babbie. In that time, she was able to lend a mother's and grandmother's hand with the family. Her daughter recounts that during those past years, their relationship developed from the mother/daughter relationship to that of friends. As a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, she will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her daughter, Babbie Ervin of Columbia, she is survived by three sons: Britt Farmer of Ft. Worth, Texas, Andy Farmer of Alvarado, Texas, and John Farmer of Demascus, Arkansas; a sister: Regena (Ralph) Smith of Porter, Texas; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice Compassus, 1412 Trotwood Ave, Suite 5, Columbia, TN 38401 in Stella's memory and to honor the wonderful and compassionate care provided by the staff of Hospice Compassus.

Condolences can be sent to the family at the top of this page.
