Sheila Mary Russell Barnett

May 28, 1944 - April 15, 2012

Sheila Mary Russell Jamieson Barnett, age 67 of Franklin, TN passed away quickly and peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2012.

Sheila was born May 28, 1944 in Paisley, Scotland to Robert Steven Jamieson and Jessie Barr Jamieson. She attended Crossathurlie School in Barrhead, Barrhead High School, Prestwick High School, "The Dough School" at Glasgow and West of Scotland College of Domestic Science and became a culinary arts teacher. She moved to Fort Smith, AR with her husband of 12 years, John A. Barnett (1945 – 2011). She lived in Fort Worth, TX for 10 years before moving to Franklin, TN. Sheila worked as a manager in the hotel and restaurant industries before starting her own cleaning service business. Retired in 1999. She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church.


Sheila is survived by one son: Roy Scott Barnett (wife, Theresa), of Glenrose, TX; two daughters: Sylvia Janet Barnett Fitzgerald (husband, Michael) and Kristi Lee Barnett Foster (husband, Chris), of Franklin, TN; 8 cherished grandchildren (Connor, Robert, Hayden, Harrison, Heath, Alison, Morgan, & Savannah); a sister: Sylvia Raulerson of Bartow, FL; two brothers: William Steven Jamieson of Hendersonville, TN and Matthew Barr Jamieson of Hurst, TX; an uncle and two aunts: Ninian S. Jamieson of Colleyville, TX, Jean McKenzie of London, England, and Mary Macintosh of Prestwick, Scotland; 6 nieces and nephews; cousins and many dear friends.

The family will celebrate her life on Saturday, April 28 at 4:30 PM at Harpeth Community Church at 1101 Gardner Drive; Franklin, TN 37064. They request memorial donations be made in Sheila's name to Alive Hospice (online at alivehospice.org or mail to 1718 Patterson Street; Nashville, TN 37203) in honor of their loving care and support.
