William "Bill" Mabry Jr.

August 24, 1928 - May 2, 2012

Mr. William Ellis Mabry Jr., age 83, husband of Judy Mabry, and a resident of Cayce Lane in Columbia passed away on Wednesday, May 02, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 5th at 2pm in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with John Vaughn and Wendell Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 4-8pm and again on Saturday from 1pm until the service hour at 2pm. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge and assisting the family with arrangements.

Bill was born in Lawrence County and grew up in the Campbellsville community in Giles County. He was the son of the late William Ellis and Donna Othel Craft Mabry. He worked as the Superintendent of Campbell and Due Construction Company for 30 years. He also worked at the Maury County Water System as manager for 13 years. He was a member of the Graymere Church of Christ. Bill enjoyed working outside, mowing and gardening. He especially enjoyed using his tractor to work on his 5 acres. He cherished being able to watch all the great grandkids play baseball. He was an avid Braves fan. But most of all, Bill was a family man.

Along with his wife Judy of 62 years, he is survived by a son, Ron Mabry; sister: Lillian Garrett of Mt. Juliet, TN; grandchildren: William Ellis (Frann) Mabry III of Columbia, TN, Steve (Heidi) Mabry of Columbia, TN, and Audra Mabry of Albuquerque, New Mexico; great grandchildren: Briar, Blair, Austin, and Spencer Mabry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Beatrice Felker.

Pallbearers will be Ron, William, Steve, Briar, Austin, Spencer, and Blair Mabry.

Honorary pallbearers will include Riddle & Williams Sunday school class at Graymere Church of Christ.
