Lisa was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the daughter of Neal Potter and Geri Lisa Black Potter. Following graduation from Spring Hill High School in Spring Hill, Tennessee; she and Steve McGaw were married on November 19, 1997. She was a member of the Theta Baptist Church. As an employee of O’Charley’s in Spring Hill, Lisa Jo made many friends with her outgoing personality. Previously, she was a manager for Pizza Hut in Columbia. This loving wife, mother of three and friend was one of the most caring and giving people you could ever meet. She thought of others before ever considering herself. It didn’t matter what was going on in her life, she always kept a radiant, beautiful smile. She would cheer others up even when she was down. She was a great listener, encourager and very supportive to her family and friends. Her passion for life and sweet spirit will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her husband and parents, she left to cherish her memory three children: Tyler, Colin and Summer McGaw all of Columbia, TN; a sister, Kristie Potter of VT; grandmother: Deani K. Black of Columbia; great-grandmother: Elizabeth Kincaid West of Columbia; her aunt: Tracy (Randy) Peden; cousins: Lauren (Billy) Kirkland, Macy DeVore, and Kaitlyn DeVore, all of Columbia; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather William “Chesley” Black.
