May 11, 1962 - July 14, 2012

Mr. James Hatcher, age 50, husband of Diana Hatcher and a resident of North James Campbell, passed away at Maury Regional Medical Center on Saturday, July 14, 2012.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Roberts officiating. The family will also visit with friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM on Wednesday. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements.

He was the son of the late Darold Glyn and Josephine Borders Hatcher. He loved being outdoors and was always hunting and fishing. When he was growing up, he loved to play baseball. His family said that he would never lie to you and would tell you the truth no matter what. He was a friend to everybody and would always give people a chance. He loved his family and will be greatly missed. James loved to cook. He was always willing to help someone in need.

In addition to his wife, he left behind: one son Darold James Hatcher (Leslie Morrison) of Columbia; four sisters: Carol (Frank) Stewart of Culleoka, Pam Davidson (Kenneth Steward) of Williamsport, Onie (Larry) Blocker of Columbia, and Jerri Grooms of Columbia; one brother Bobby (Tammy) Hatcher of Columbia; his mother and father-in-law Jean and David Harmon of Bradenton, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law Jerry Grooms.

The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, Po Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
