Mr. Lige “Junior” Jenkins, age 75, husband of Joan Jenkins, and a resident of Knob Creek Road in Columbia, TN passed away Saturday, August 4, 2012 at his residence.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, August 7 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Keith Baker and Herman Howell officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Theta. The family will receive friends Monday August 6 from 4 – 8 PM as well as one hour prior to the service on Tuesday in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of arrangements.

Born on April 3, 1937 in Giles County, Junior was the son of the Late Lige and Ocia Jenkins. Until his health failed, he attended the Theta Church of Christ. Junior was a farmer and he maintained a slaughter house for many years. His family described him as being a hard worker who felt a need to accomplish something new every day. He loved people, especially children, and he was happiest when he was with his family.

In addition to his wife of 50 years: Joan Giles Jenkins, Junior is survived by his son: Tim Jenkins of Columbia; four brothers: Alfred (Rita) Jenkins of Waco, Billy (Joyce) Jenkins of Pulaski, Walter (Shawna) Jenkins of Waco, Jerry (Sibyl) Jenkins of Waco; three sisters: Kathleen (Dwight) Tucker of Pulaski, Marie Cox of Pulaski, Mary Elizabeth (Vergie) Stubblefield of Pulaski; two grandchildren: Brandy Jenkins and Blake Jenkins; two great-grandchildren: Kylee and Kacyne Jenkins.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Ola Mae Jenkins.
Pallbearers will be Jay Giles, Larry Turner, Ronnie Roland, Brent Roland, Dwight Tucker, and Fred Brooks.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles Clark and Herman Howell.
