Philip Henry Whitman

September 28, 1918 - August 17, 2012

Mr. Philip Henry Whitman, age 93 and a resident of Brentwood, TN, passed away on Friday morning, August 17, 2012 at his residence.

Per his request, Mr. Whitman's life will be privately celebrated. His family will memorialize him, with military honors provided by the United States Navy, at a later date at Nashville National Cemetery. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Whitman was born Sept 28, 1918 in Topeka, KS to Earle Henry & Hettie Brackney Whitman.  He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kansas. He was retired from Gates Rubber Company, now Gates Corporation.

Mr. Whitman is survived by three sons: David, Wayne and Charles.
