Mr. Winston Perry Trolinger, Jr., age 75, loving husband of Anne Wharton Trolinger, of Decatur, AL, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 19, 2012, surrounded by his wife and daughters.
Under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 21st at 4:00 PM from the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home in Shelbyville, Tennessee with Pastor Roger Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home of Columbia, Tennessee is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Born in Shelbyville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Winston Perry Trolinger and the late Euna Mae Davis Trolinger. He earned his BS in Civil Engineering at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville) and his MBA at the University of Alabama (Huntsville). He served in the National Guard from 1953 ~ 1961. He worked as a Civil Engineer and was employed by Southern Railway and the Army Missile Command. While employed by Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal, he received various distinguished service awards. This devoted Christian and family man was a member of First Baptist Church in Decatur, Alabama. He enjoyed carpentry, marksmanship, and loved water sports. His kindness, wisdom, and gentle spirit will be missed by all of his family and friends. Although he has left us, the good things he instilled into others will continue to live on through him.
In addition to his loving wife, Anne; he left behind to cherish his memory two daughters: Peri Anne (Roger) Adams of Columbia, TN and Lisa (Frank) McClure of Birmingham, AL; two brothers: James (Pauline Trolinger of CA and William (Pam) Trolinger of Nashville, TN ; one sister, Martha Gene (Wallace) Cartwright of Shelbyville, TN; and five grandchildren: Cole (Elizabeth) Smith, Chad Smith, Tara Greene, Scott McClure and Mark McClure.
Pallbearers will include; Roger Adams, Frank McClure, Cole Smith, Chad Smith, Scott McClure and Mark McClure.
