Wanda Gentry

March 30, 1952 - September 12, 2012

Wanda Gentry, age 60, and a resident of Columbia, TN passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 15 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held on Saturday from 1:00 until the service hour. Burial will be held privately by the family later. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of arrangements.

Born in Eaton, Ohio on March 30, 1952, Wanda was the daughter of the late Miburn C. and Ruby E. (Likens) Gentry. As a young lady, she was an avid basketball player who won many awards. Her former employers included Doug Nash and Toby’s Country Kitchen, both located in Franklin and C.P.S Factory. She was a longtime waitress and owner of The Junction Restaurant and was a member of Union Hill Church of Christ in Red Boiling Springs, TN. She loved family reunions and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a fan of Jeff Gordon and Nascar Racing as well as fishing. Wanda was well known for her excellent cooking skills, and she was always willing to give to others.

Wanda is survived by two sons: Jamie (Kim) Gentry of Columbia, Walter Dane Gentry of Franklin; three brothers: Michael Gentry of Franklin, Joey (Sybil) Gentry of Franklin, Rod D. (Jenny) Gentry of White House; three grandchildren: Nick Gentry, Renee (Matt) Harvey, Cody Gentry; and two great-grandchildren: Chloe and Brooklyn Harvey.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by Judy Gentry Wiley, Peggy Gentry Woodard, and Rhonda Gentry Whitefield.

Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Wiley, Randy Whitefield, Stefan Wiley, Sam (Andrea) Keasler, and Mason Gentry.
