Mr. Charles Robinson, age 75, husband of Beth Robinson, of Cornersville, passed away Saturday September 22, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
The family will celebrate his life with a “get together” on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 1:00 PM at his son, Bill’s home in Newberry, FL. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of arrangements.
A native of Brooker, Florida, Charles was born on July 10, 1937. He was the son of the late Willie Buck and Mildred Stokes Robinson. He was of the Baptist faith and served in the United States Army as an automobile maintenance tech for 21 years and 15 days after retiring in 1976. During his service he received a Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with 60 Device, 4 Overseas Bars, and the Republic of Vietnam Training Service. He enjoyed Nascar Racing and was a fan of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He was a time keeper for barrel races, and he loved college football, especially the Florida Gators. Some of his hobbies included fishing and hunting. He loved his family and his dog, TyTy.
In addition to his wife of 18 years, he is also survived by his son: William “Bill” (Regina) Robinson of Newberry, FL; daughter: Carla (J.B. “Jay” III) O’Steen of High Springs, FL; two step- daughters: Jenny (Chris) Kiser of Cornersville, TN, Amy Russell of Cornersville, TN; three grandchildren: J.B. O’Steen IV, Eric O’Steen, and Charles “Chaz” Robinson, and his beloved dog, TyTy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lamar Robinson.
