Oliver Leroy Bowen

Mr. Oliver Leroy Bowen, age 83, and a resident of Bear Creek Pike in Columbia, TN passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

The family will celebrate his life with services at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of arrangements.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 24, 1929, Oliver was the son of the late Samuel and Gertrude Kane Bowen. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 61 years, Joan Buffington Bowen. He loved wood working and was previously a fire department Captain for the Baltimore City Fire Department. Oliver also served our country in the United States Navy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Michael (Carolyn) Bowen of Columbia and daughter, Bonnie Bowen Brown of Joppa, Maryland; two grandchildren: Alison Flores and Michael Bowen.
