Mr. John "Johnny 5" Robert Mooningham, age 44, a resident of Olive Street in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2012.
A funeral service for Mr. Mooningham will be held on Friday, November 2 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Mark Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, November 1 from 4:00-9:00 PM and again on Friday from 10:00 AM until the service hour at 2 at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements and assisting the family.
Born in Maury County, Tennessee, he was the son of the Robert Dwight and Rita Mooningham and Coletta Diane (Riggins) and JR Poole. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Columbia, Tennessee. He was self employed with his dry wall business. He adored his family and friends and thoroughly enjoyed sports. His favorite sport was football and his prized team was the Dallas Cowboys; he also was a huge fan of the Titans. After football, basketball was his next favorite sport. He was definitely a people person. He was always telling jokes and making those around him happy and he filled their lives with laughter. His loving nature will truly be missed by all.
In addition to his parents, he left behind to cherish his memory his son Lane Potts of Mt. Pleasant, TN, his girlfriend, Lisa Potts of Mt. Pleasant, TN; four brothers: Michael Mooningham, Robert Mooningham, and Kevin (Wanda) Moore all of Columbia, TN, and Charles (Amanda) Moore of Lawrenceburg, TN; five sisters: Tammy Mooningham Parks of AR, Brenda Rogers of Summertown,TN, Darlene (Kent) Taylor of Columbia, TN, Kim (Chris) Mooningham Johnson of Theta, TN, and Amanda (Alan) Savage; one grandchild, Justice Potts of Mt. Pleasant, TN; a special friend, Sue Bowser and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: James and Alene Mooningham and Freeman and Frances Riggins, his brother-in-law, Bill Parks, and five uncles: Ronnie Mooningham, Jimmy Riggins, Jerry Riggins, Wayne Kelley, and Pete Phillips.
Pallbearers will include: Wayne (Tadpole) Cates, Bobby Jacoby, Lonnie (Chigger) Cates, Jonthan "Bo" Kelley, Ricky Wayne, and Timmy Morton.
Honorary Pallbearers will be all his cousins and friends: Scotty Morton, Greg Morton, Chuck Moore, Eddie Morton, and Tom Brantley.
