Mr. Kenneth Voss, age 85, husband of Frances Voss, and a resident of N. Cross Bridges Road in Columbia passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at NHC-Columbia.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 9, 2012 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Steve Livengood and Associate Pastor David Simmerman. Burial will follow in the Cross Bridges Cemetery in Cross Bridges with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin Post of the American Legion. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Voss was a native of Maury County and son of the late Bethel M. and Lizzie Regions Voss. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII and was retired from Union Carbide. He was a member of First Family in Columbia, and the American Legion Post 76.
He loved fishing and hunting, and spend other free time working in his yard and tending his garden. He was a man of faith who loved his family and those around him.
In addition to his wife: Frances Holt Voss of Columbia, he is survived by grandchildren: Kelsey Voss, Shelby Voss, Brandon Voss, and BreAnna Voss; a brother: Fred (Yvonne) Voss of Hampshire; sister: Ruth Nichols of Saginaw, MI; sisters-in-law: Sue Voss and Juanita Voss; nieces and nephews: Betty (Jack ) Stanfill, Paula (James) Cox, Debra (Mark) Derryberry, Anita (Huey) Smith, Tabby (Phil) Lafrance, Edith Ann (Mike) Baybeck, Bobby (Jan) Brown, Norris Johnson, Mike Nichols, and Freddie (Susan) Voss; and additional in-laws: Norman Holt and Mildred Locke.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Brown, Norris Johnson, Freddie Voss, Mike Nichols, Huey Smith, James Cox, Mark Derryberry, Kevin Holt, and Dwight Holt.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Nathan McKennon, Sherman Massey, Wayne Morrow, Billy Dan Morrow, Jimmy Morrow, Kenny Cecil, Bobby Cecil, Curtis Riley, Billy Stinson, Don Truelove, Bernice White, Lewis Holt, Billy Smith, Wayne Smith, Mark Hines, Jeffrey Sisk, Allen Savage, Joe Sam Savage, Allen Pogue, James Winchester, Mike Johnson, Jack Turner, John Osborne, Sam Worley, Harold Cousino, Norman Holt, Tommy Carroll, Jack Turner, Phil Allen, Jack Stanfill, Mike Baybeck, Frank McBride, and Fellow Workers at Union Carbide.
