A native of Maury County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late L.B. Potts and the late Ruth Potts. She attended the Santa Fe High School and was a loving housewife and a devoted mother. She was a faithful Christian servant and loved serving in the capacity of secretary at the Elmore Church of the Nazarene of which she was a lifelong member. In addition, she also served on the church board. In the Nazarene Organization, she was awarded the Distinguished Service Award which is the highest honor. She was a supporter of the Water Valley Community Center and Evelyn had many interests in her life including camping and her love and appreciation for flowers. She had a passion for gospel music and was the lead singer with her family gospel singing group called "The Potts Sisters". Her admiration and love for animals was remembered by all of her family. Also, she took great pride and joy in her 1955 Chevy. Her loving and caring spirit will truly be missed by all. She lived her life in a way that others could definitely pattern theirs after her Christian walk.
