Mr. Grady Sharp, age 87, husband of Edith Lunn Sharp, and a resident of Columbia, TN passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at NHC Healthcare in Columbia.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 6th at 2:00pm in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Calvin Lunn officiating. Interment will follow in the Jones Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, December 5th from 4-8pm in the Hunter Room at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of arrangements.
Born in Maury County, Tennessee, Grady was the son of the late John Hade and Curtie Mai Wright Sharp. He was a life-long member of the Rock Spring Baptist Church, but recently attended Union Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He married Edith Lunn Sharp on February 10, 1949 and served in the US Army at the end of World War II as an MP in the Occupational Forces in Japan. The remainder of his life he was a farmer.
Along with his wife of 63 years Edith, Grady is survived by his son, Mark Sharp of Murfreesboro, TN; Daughter: Marilyn (Eddie) Vaughn of Spring Hill, TN; Brothers: John Mahlon Sharp of Smyrna, TN, and Harry Sharp of Cordova; Sisters: Madge Jennings of Columbia, TN, and Audrey Lovett of Lewisburg, TN; Grandchildren: Adam (Crystal) Vaughn and Joshua Sharp; Great Grandchildren: Andrew Vaughn and Audrey Vaughn.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, James Lewis Sharp.
Pallbearers will include Keith Jennings, Eddie Anderson, Ron Neal, Randall Lunn, Ken Horner, Tim Lunn, Gary Gannon, and Tommy Lentz.
Members of Union Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
