Robert Claude Hersey

October 15, 1930 - December 12, 2012

Mr. Robert Hersey, age 82, husband of Elizabeth Hersey, and a resident of Rands Way in Columbia passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Memorial services will be Sunday, December 16 at 3:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of arrangements.

Born in Buffalo, NY on October 15, 1930, Robert was the son of the late Theodore and Yolanda Hersey. He was of the Catholic faith and worked as a veterinary assistant at several horse race tracks. Robert loved horse racing and working at the race track. He also enjoyed gardening and tinkering with radios.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by step-son, James (Debbie) Johnson of Columbia; step-daughter, Jane (Doug Thomas) Johnson of Reno, NV; five grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
