Mark Clifton Marsh

August 26, 1948 - December 21, 2012

Mark Clifton Marsh, beloved husband of Nicki Marsh, passed away Friday, December 21st, 2012 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center of complications from liver disease.

Mark was born on August 26, 1948, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina to the late Morrison Brown and Bernice Young Marsh. He was a retired commander from the Anchorage Police Department with 29 years of service, a member of the Blue Knights Chapter of Alaska, attended the Southern Police Institute in Louisville, KY, and was currently employed as a District Manager with NMS Security in NANA Corporation. Mr. Marsh loved working in law enforcement, where he built a family of remarkable friends and co-workers. He cherished animals, enjoyed traveling in his motor home, and living life to the fullest.

Mark is survived by a combo family of five wonderful children including Bill (and Jamie) Pooley, Brandi (and Scott) Centobene, Lori Marsh, Kayla Marsh, Michael May, five beautiful grandchildren Marcus and Nicole Pooley, Hailey, Anthony and Tyler Centobene, and special cousin Perrin (and Deborah) Young, who was closer than a brother.

Mr. Marsh was a man of undeniable strength and honor. His noble, stoic presence was a reflection of his selfless commitment to truth, honor, and loyalty. Mark dedicated his life to the service and protection of his community, friends, family, and loved ones. His character was humble, his actions were kind, and his heart was made of gold. He left an undeniable impact upon so many lives that where blessed to have shared any moment of his time, we are thankful for the memories he left us to cherish.

He is currently at Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, TN. Mark’s wishes were to be cremated and be laid to rest in peace beside his father in Anchorage, AK. Arrangements will be made for a service this summer to honor and celebrate his life. Details will be posted at a later date.
