Allard Pierre D'Heur

July 3, 1931 - January 24, 2013

Mr. Allard Pierre D'Heur, age 81, husband of Beverly Kay D'Heur and a resident of McEwen, formerly of Columbia, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Southern Care Assisted Living in Franklin.

Mr. D'Heur will be laid to rest at Nashville National Cemetery on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 1:00 PM with military honors provided by the United States Navy. There will be no additional services prior. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Allard was born July 3, 1931 in Fellows, California. He was the son of the late Allard Ferdinand and Elizabeth Vashti Ballanfonte D'Heur.

He graduated from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville with a degree in Agriculture. He loved farming, animals, and nature. In his free time he rode with the The Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club. He also spent numerous hours playing solitare.

Mr. D'Heur made a career of service to his country. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War as an electrical engineer, then became a Federal Customs Agent serving in Vietnam and at various locations around the world. When stateside, he labored on his Maury County farm.

In addition to his wife of 18 years, Beverly, he is survived by daughters: Yvonne Chastain and Adrienne D'Heur both of Philadelphia, TN; step-daughters: Nicole K. Wiatr of Franklin, TN and Kristen K. Arold of Seattle, WA; 13 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; and 3 nieces: Freyja James of Culleoka, Sarah Lowrie and Courtney Mantecon both of NC.

In addition to his parents: He was preceded in death by a son: Karl D'Heur and sister: Jeanne Devine.
