Mrs. Mary Frances Lentz Henderson Howell, age 84, and a resident of Columbia, TN died peacefully February 5, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 9th at 1pm in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Jerry Golden and Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Friday, February 8th from 4-8pm at Heritage Funeral Home and again from 11:00 AM until the service hour on Saturday. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements.

Mary was born October 6, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Robert Sidney Lentz and Theola Lentz Brown. She was the step daughter to the late Thomas M. Brown. She was a native of Maury County. She attended Maury County schools and graduated from Central High School in 1946. She was a member of the Graymere Church of Christ. Mary married SSG Robert L. Henderson on September 15, 1947, until his death in April of 1972. They had 4 children: Donna (Ron, SGT Ret) Orozco of Columbia, LTC (Ret) Robert (Micha) Henderson Jr. of Tampa, FL, Rebeckah (Danny) Russell of Columbia, and Patricia Albright of Columbia. Mary later married William C. Howell until his death in July 2008. She worked in retail and office management until she retired in 1989.

Along with her children, Mary is survived by her sisters: Hazel Cothran, Sue Greene, Sara Haddock, all of Columbia, and Doris Ann Head of Clarksville, TN; Sister in laws: Martha Lentz of Columbia, and Norma Lentz of Jackson, TN; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and step father, Mary is preceded in death by her brothers: Thomas Lentz, Albert Lentz, Herbert Lentz, and Frank Lentz; brothers-in-law: Wayne Cothran, David Green, and Jerry Haddock.

The family will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ben Gardner, his staff, and everyone with Hospice Compassus.
