Mrs. Margaret Hall Moore, age 84, wife of Loftin V. Moore, and long time resident of Lynnville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Maury Regional Medical Center surrounded by family.

Margaret was born May 16, 1928 in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Cheatam and Virginia Hall. As a graduate of Haylong High School and attended business school, early in life she worked with the Tennessee Farm Bureau before becoming a full time mother and homemaker. She was a gentle, warm, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who loved and cared for others.

She and her husband, Loftin, were married in 1951and were blessed with three daughters: Harriett, Linda, and Mary Jane. Though they faced the death of their daughter, Harriett, in 1980, Margaret was a dedicated Christian whose faith never failed. She continued her life of service to God and played the organ and piano at Grace Church of the Nazarene in Columbia. She enjoyed playing for groups, weddings and sing-along’s at family and friends gatherings. Margaret’s selfless life of service can be recalled by her own words,
“You made my day for visiting me today”.

Margaret was a hard working woman who had many talents. She was an excellent cook, seamstress, pianist, organist and gardener. She had been very active in her community where she was involved with the school, serving in such roles as PTA president and numberous volunteer opportunities and for many years she delighted in her work with the Home Demonstration Club. She served as different officers and committees related to “the club” and had many lifelong friends related to her involvement. Of all her talents, her greatest was that of hospitality. She found joy and pleasure in giving to others. Whether it was sharing garden vegetables, flowers from her yard, her special canned food, cooking meals for the sick or grieving, or sewing for others, always found a way to reach out to others.

Along with her husband of 62 years, Loftin V. Moore, she leaves behind to cherish her memory two daughters: Linda Moore (Patrick) Schipani of Nashville and Mary Jane (Harry) Montgomery of Moulton, Al. Two brothers: Jerry D. (Angela) Hall and Wayne (Christine) Hall all of Mt. Pleasant; In her words: “I have four precious grandchildren”: Matthew Schipani, Vincent Schipani, Carson Montgomery and Meredith Montgomery.

In addition to her parents and daughter, her sister Mary Oaklene Stokes precedes her in death.
