Albert E. Jones

December 23, 1927 - April 4, 2013

Mr. Albert Edward Jones, 85, passed on to his reward
from his home in Franklin, TN on Thursday, April 4, 2013.

Mr. Jones is survived by his loving wife of over 59
years, Ruby Jackson Jones; daughters, Rebecca Jones Kent (Mike), Suzanne Jones
Cothern (Dennis); and son, Mark Edward Jones (Danielle).  He is also survived by six grandchildren,
Rebecca Langley Willis (James), Jonathan Langley (Tabitha), Drew Konig, Ben
Konig, Carmen Jones and Daniel David Jones; great grandson, Henry Willis and
nephew, Paul Ogle.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mamie
McPherson Jones and his Father, Francis Paul Jones of Leiper’s Fork; son, David
A. Jones of Franklin and sister, Pauline Jones Ogle of Hendersonville, TN.

A private celebration of his life will be held at a later
date.  Memorials may be made to Southern
Hills Church of Christ Missionary Fund, 2508 Goose Creek By-Pass, Franklin, TN  37064.

Mr. Jones grew up in Leiper’s Fork, TN on the family
farm.  He attended Franklin High School,
graduating in the class of 1946.  He
attended David Lipscomb
College and received his Bachelor’s degree
from the University of Tennessee,
Knoxville in 1956.  He earned a Master’s Degree from Middle Tennessee State University and
also studied at Peabody and Vanderbilt Universities.  Mr. Jones served 4 years in the U.S. Air
Force, including tour of duty in the Korean Conflict.  Mr. Jones was an educator for 34 years,
working with both the Wayne County Schools, Waynesboro, TN and the Metro Board
of Education in Nashville.

He devoted his life to sharing the Gospel of
Christ.  He led singing, preached and
taught Bible classes throughout his life; baptizing many into Christ.  Mr. Jones was a member of Southern Hills
Church of Christ in Franklin,
TN.
