A native of Nashville, Dorothy was one of 13 children of Herman Brumit
and Ethel Trenary Brumit. She was formerly employed with BellSouth Mobility.
Dorothy loved casinos and gambling. She enjoyed any “classic” game
show, especially Wheel of Fortune. If a college basketball or football game
wasn’t being played, she could be found playing Scrabble on her computer or
spoiling her Jack Russell Terrier, Patches. She will be remembered as a great
cook and a person who couldn’t tell someone “no.” Dorothy believed that
everybody had potential as long as they had breath. There was no such thing as
a lost cause.
Earlier in life, she loved RV trips with her family and the fishing
opportunities that came. It was always difficult to keep her away from a
fishing pole.
Dorothy is survived by her son: Joe (Vee) Browne of Dayton, OH;
daughter:
Lynn (Mike) Prosser of Columbia, TN; brothers: Kenny, Tommy, Jackie,
Bobby, Jimmy and Herman Brumit all of Nashville, and Charlie Brumit of Santa Fe
Community;
sisters: Helen Eaves and
June Hedge of Nashville; 8 grandchildren: Kimberly (Steve) Brady, Keith (Jamie)
Bradley, Kerry Bradley, Brittany (Paul) Carlton, Brandon Gibson, Jarrett
Browne, Lindsay Browne and Haylee Moore; and 4 great-grandchildren: Mallory
Brady, Madelyn Brady, K.J. Bradley, Cayla Glenn and Noah Gibson.
