Charles "Chuck" W. Ledford

April 18, 1949 - April 19, 2013

Mr. Charles “Chuck” Ledford, of Columbia, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 at Generations Center in Spencer, TN, the day following his 64th birthday.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 7:00 PM at the Solid Rock Church in Columbia, officiated by Pastor Georgina Kennedy. The family will visit with friends from 4:00 until the service hour at the church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and is in charge of the arrangements.

Chuck was born April 18, 1949 in Chowan County, NC and was the son of Everett Wright and Helen Lenior Crowder Ledford. He was retired from Maury Regional Hospital where he served in Materials Management. When able, Chuck attended the Solid Rock Church in Columbia.

A native of the mountains of North Carolina, Chuck loved camping and being in nature. In past years he enjoyed spending time with friends and family. His pastime was watching NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon. Although not a mechanic, Chuck simply enjoyed cars. He loved car shows and learning about different vehicles. Throughout it all, Chuck had a special place in his heart for his daughter, Chelsea.

Chuck is survived by three children: Chelsea Ledford of Columbia, Darlene Ledford and James Ledford, both of Newton, NC; two brothers: Kenneth Ledford of Marion, NC and Pete Ledford of Canton, NC; 4grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents.
