Lynda Gayle Mavity

May 25, 1945 - May 5, 2013

Mrs. Gayle Mavity, age 67, wife of Mose Mavity, a resident of Masters Lane in Columbia passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013 at her residence.

A memorial service for Gayle will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 6:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Family and friends will help officiate the service. The family will also visit with friends on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of arrangements.

Born in Tupelo, Mississippi on May 25, 1945, Gayle was the daughter of the late Beauford and Myrtle Ellis Christian. She was of the Baptist faith and worked as a waitress. Her husband, Mo, and her Chihuahua, Pee Wee, were the love of her life. She spent the last twenty-one years of her life doing what she loved most, which was serving her customers at the Ponderosa/Bonanza Restaurant in the Columbia Mall.

In addition to her husband, she leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons: Randy G. (Pam) Loague of Santa Fe, Jeffrey W. (Valerie) Loague of Gainesville, VA; two granddaughters: Brittany Loague of Columbia, SC, Kaelyn Loague of Gainesville, VA; two grandsons: Quentin Loague of Gainesville, VA, Ty Loague of Santa Fe; two sisters: Peggy J. Box of Charleroi, PA, Bobbie A. Roberts of Belden, MS; special aunt: Norma Jean Mullins of Moline, IL; special daughter-in-law: Kimberly Estes of Columbia, SC; two step-granddaughters: Tiffany Lynch and Delayna Hill both of Santa Fe; two step-great-grandchildren: Rebekah and Peyton Lynch; and special pet: Pee Wee.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Luther Ellis and Mr. and Mrs. James Christian.

Honorary pallbearers will be the past and present employees who served with Gayle at the Ponderosa/Bonanza Restaurant.
