Mrs. Jones was born on December 12, 1913 in Limestone County, AL and was the daughter of the late Walter and Fannie Moyers Haggermaker. She was a member of the Church for Christ. Proverbs 31 states, “Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.” Mrs. Jones was such a woman. She loved her God, her church, and her family. She never met a stranger and would not only share what she had, but even give all she had to someone who was truly in need. When she had nothing, she was able to come up with a meal to feed her family, and anyone else who was there. She will be remembered as caring, friendly and dedicated to her family.
To cherish such a memory, she leaves behind a son: James Jones of Columbia; three daughters: Minnie (J.C.) Fisher, Lois (Roy “Buck”) Fisher, and Elizabeth Jones all of Columbia; sister: Maggie Haggermaker and a brother: Edgar Haggermaker, both of Athens, AL; eight grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three children: Orville Jones, Inez Jones, Nelladean Jones; five brothers and sisters; and two grandchildren.
Condolences may be sent to the family at the top of this page.
