Mr. George Carl Potts, age 59, husband of Dottie Powell Potts, a resident of Old Natchez Trace in Santa Fe, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 3 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Jo Martin and Keith Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Chapel Cemetery near Santa Fe. The family will be at Heritage Funeral Home on Sunday, June 2 from 2:00 – 6:00 PM for visitation, and one hour prior to the services on Monday. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Carl was born May 20, 1954 in Williamson County and was the son of G. C. Potts and Mrs. Cora Lee Humphrey Potts. He was a self-employed carpenter and had worked for Nukote Industrial and Bell Construction in Nashville. He was a member of the Johnson Chapel Baptist Church and loved restoring old cars.
Carl is survived by his wife: Dottie Pearl Powell Potts of Santa Fe; his mother: Cora Lee Humphrey Potts of Santa Fe; a daughter: Cynthia Ulm of Columbia; son: Bobby Potts of Santa Fe; stepsons: Billy (Amber) Coleman of Hazel Green, AL, Tom (Tina) Coleman of Elkmont, AL; step-daughter: Dottie Coleman of Columbia; a brother: Jerry (Patricia) Potts of Santa Fe; two sisters: Brenda Kay and Linda Fay Potts, both of Santa Fe; three grandchildren: Brandon Potts of Centerville, Jacob Beaver of Columbia, and Lucas Potts of Santa Fe; and step-grandchildren: Austin, Whitley, Hope and Justin.
He was preceded in death by his father: G. C. Potts in October 2010.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Humphrey, Roger Humphrey, Billy Coleman, James Scott, John Scott, and Dillon Scott.
