Mr. Floyd Davis “Tadpole” Miller, age 68 of Lynnville, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 4 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. The family will be at the funeral home on Monday, June 3 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM for visitation. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Floyd was born November 29, 1944 in Fredericksburg, VA and was the son of the late Charles Ralph and Hazel Alice Dewitt Miller. He retired from Cooper Steel as a heavy machine operator. He had previously worked for Beasley Construction, Boshear’s Welding, and Jr. Gray’s Auto Parts.
Tadpole was happiest when he was outside. His passion was spending time at the river, but he loved hunting, camping, fishing, and simply being outside.
He was preceded in death by his fathers: Charles “Windy” Miller and Norman Murry Deats; mothers: Hazel Alice Miller, and Irene Berthiaume; step-mother: Constance Deats; and siblings: John Norman Deats, Archie Berthiaume, Joyce Wilson and Myrna Todd.
Tadpole is survived by his wife: Barbara “Bobbie” Miller of Lynnville; three daughters: Tammy Jean Miller of Murfreesboro, Alice Ann Jones of Fayetteville, and Harriet Lynn Thompson of Minor Hill; 2 sons: Charles “Lucky” Miller of Lynnville and Ronald Davis Miller of Columbia; sisters: Dorothy “DeeDee” Dye of Dumphries, VA and Paula Berthiaume of McDavid, FL; 4 brothers: Julius Caesar Deats of Fredericksburg, VA, L. J. Berthiaume Jr of McDavid, FL, Gary Miller of Pulaski, TN and James Miller of Columbia; and six grandchildren: Kayleigh, Tiffany, Hailey, Elijah, Clara Jean, and River Davis. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family requests that memorial donations be made in Tadpole’s honor to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
