Mr. James A. Sullivan, age 72, a resident of Bob Davis Road in Lewisburg, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013 at his residence.


A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at 4:00 PM at Belfast Presbyterian Church in Belfast, TN with Wesley Thomason officiating. The family will visit with friends from 2:00 PM until the service hour at 4:00 PM. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.


Born in Lincoln County on September 15, 1940, James was the son of the late Albert Edward and Addie Mae Lasater Sullivan.


He worked as an automobile body repairman for fifty years and created his own version of a hat dance. He enjoyed picking guitar with the boys, and spending time with family and friends.


He is survived by the love of his life: Elaine Sullivan two sons: Christopher Lawrence Sullivan of Shelbyville and James A. “Jimmy” Sullivan, Jr.; daughter: Anita Darnell of Lewisburg; brother: David Royce Sullivan of Fayetteville; sister: Mildred Elizabeth O’Connor of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren: Randy Lee Darnell Dunkleman, Jessie Machell York, Samantha Joyce Darnell, Kevin Wesley Sullivan, Sarah Mackenzie Sullivan, Gwendolyn Shae Sullivan, Xander Laine Sullivan; and four great-grandchildren: William Connor Dunkleman, Robert Tavin Dunkleman, Katharine Mina York, and Willow-Leah Caroline Darnell; several Nieces and nephews, including Phillip Edward Overcast.

Along with his parents, Mr. Sullivan was preceded in death by a sister: Emmer Fay Luna; and a brother: Ronald Edward “Ronnie” Sullivan.
