John Wilse Thomas

November 8, 1945 - July 19, 2013

Mr. John Wilse Thomas, age 67, formerly of Columbia, passed away Friday evening, July 19, 2013.

Private services will be held at a later date by the family. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of arrangements.

John was born in Columbia, Tennessee on November 8, 1945 and was the son of the late Edward and Alice Thompson Thomas. He worked as an oil rigger most of his life. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed doing wood work and fishing.


He is survived by two daughters: Traci Thomas of Nashville, TN and Holly (Tony) Baker of Fairview, TN; a son: David (Amy) Barnett of Greenwood, MS; two grandchildren: Tyler Barnett and Laney Barnett; Sister: Etta (Thomas) Lackey of Mt. Juliet, TN.

In addition to John’s parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Eddie C. Thomas III.
