Mrs. Kay Mills Knight, age 68, wife of David Ronnie Knight, and a resident of Spring Hill, passed away Saturday morning, August 17, 2013 at Centennial Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 4PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Matthew Farr officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel Mausoleum of Maury Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, August 19, 2013 from 4-6PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of Aliceville, Alabama, Kay was born on April 28, 1945 and was the youngest of twelve children of James Emmitt and Connie Ellen Berryhill Mills. Kay was the very definition of homemaker. She cared for her family in every aspect, even as her health was failing her. She never complained in any situation. In addition to her loving family, she cherished her four-legged children: Chauncy, Kylie, Max and Raeli.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter: Angela E. Knight of Spring Hill; four sons: David R. Knight, Jr., Richard Brian Knight, Patrick Arlie Knight, John Thomas Knight; three brothers: Emmitt Mills of Sumiton, AL, Joe Mills of Cordova, AL, Billy Mills of Kentucky; two sisters: Pat Sargent of Cordova, AL, Mattie Swafford of Cordova, AL; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Additionally she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by six siblings: Zelmer Mills, Arlie Mills, “Boots” Henderson, Mavis Boda, Ann Kimbrell and Ozie Owens; and a grandchild: Tyler Knight.

Pallbearers will be Larry Brown, Mike Barnes, Neil King, Mike Lowe, Linton Hughes, and Blake Farr.
