Diane Cothron

November 8, 1955 - September 15, 2013

Diane Cothron, age 57 of Columbia and wife of “PeeWee” Cothran, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 at her residence.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 20th at 4PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Timmy Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 2-4PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Diane was born on November 8, 1955 in Maury County, and was the daughter of the late James and Nolie Bell Powell. Diane attended Mt. Pleasant High School and worked for Weather Tamer as a sewing machine operator. She was a member of Hall’s Chapel Church.

Diane will best be remembered as a woman of strong character and personality. She loved her family and spending time with her precious grandchildren. Her career of sewing was also a passion as a hobby. In her free time, she enjoyed playing spades and watching her favorite TV shows, especially Supernatural and Charmed. No matter the situation though, Diane was “in charge.” She had a great way of including people in decision making, but made it very clear that ultimately it was “my way or the highway.” Her strong will and love for her family will be missed by those who cherished her so much.

Along with her husband Marshall Wade “PeeWee” Cothron, Diane is survived by a son: Chris (Kelly) Jones of Mt. Pleasant; daughter: Amanda Cothron (Jeffery McNeese) of Culleoka; brother: Ronnie Wayne Powell of Mt. Pleasant; sisters: Janice Davidson of Murfreesboro and Mary Lou Brooks of Santa Fe; and 5 grandchildren: Kane, Dylan, Mason, Timothy, and Aaron.

Pallbearers will be Fred Tawney, William “Billy Bob” Smith, Keith Miller, Charles Mencer, Jeremy Bryson and Andrew Brooks. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and members of the family.
