James Frierson, Jr.

April 3, 1949 - September 26, 2013

Mr. James “Bubba” Porter Frierson, Jr, age 64, a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Maury Regional Medical Center after a long battle of illness.

A memorial service for Mr. Frierson will be conducted on Friday, October 4, 2013at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday from 12-1 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bubba was born on April 3, 1949 in Santa Fe, TN to Hattie Mae Goff and James Porter Frierson, Sr. He was educated in the Maury County school systems and was a roofer for many years. He was a well known person who everyone loved. Bubba was baptized at an early age. He was talented at drawing; he loved to read, and he enjoyed westerns and science fiction.


He leaves behind his daughter: Carla Yvette Wilson of Columbia; brothers: Barry Wayne (Lucinda) Ballentine, Frank Ballentine, Anthony Ballentine, Zachary Ballentine, and Gary Dean Frierson; sister: Doris Elaine Ballentine; grandchildren: Tonya, Veronica, Ashley, Kendall, Jordan; eight great-grandchildren; devoted cousin: Mary Jane Brooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and very special friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Willie Joe Frierson, Charles Frierson, and Thomas Frierson.
