Mr. Hal G. Hardison, age 55, a resident of Bristow Road in Columbia and formerly of Culleoka, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Methodist University Medical Center in Memphis, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 14th at 1:00PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Haynes Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, November 13th from 5:00-8:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born in Lewisburg, Tennessee on December 6, 1957, Hal was the youngest child of the late John Lee and Frances Gifford Hardison. He was a member of the class of 1975 of Culleoka High School. He was employed over 20years at Walker Die Casting in Lewisburg, an avid UT football fan, and was also a part time farmer. Hal was a true southern gentleman and was a very humble man.

On December 6, 2000 he met the love of his life, Sheila Stewart, and they married on February 14, 2013. Hal was a member of Scribner’s Mill Church of Christ for most of his life. He was raised on a farm and developed a hard work ethic instilled by his loving parents.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife: Sheila Stewart Hardison of Columbia; a step daughter whom he adored: Jade Potts Upton and her husband Richard of Cornersville; a brother: Hank and Vivian Hardison of Lewisburg; three sisters: Barbara (Everett) Campbell of Lewisburg, Sharon (Freddie) Slaughter, and Susan (Tim Barnes), both of Columbia; sister in laws: Vickie Witherspoon of Columbia and Beth (Philip) King of Nashville; Hal also has numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and his pets, Tipper and Kittle.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother in law, Jenny Cates, and his nephew, Joe Slaughter.

Active pallbearers will be Shane Luna, Scott Luna, Donnie Walls, Bobby Adams, Donnie Chapman, and his best friend, Jerry Hendrix.

Honorary pallbearers will be Patricia and Ronald Luna, Lois and Joe Kelley, Linda and James Ballinger, Charles and Judy Lee, Teresa Peden, Lorrie Primm, Gina Cahill, Kenneth Osborne, David Osborne, Judy Osborne, Dwayne Osborne, Joyce Dean, Silvia Chumbley, Jerri Fay Adams, Otis Young, Paula Hann, Members of the 1975 graduating class of Culleoka High School, former co-workers at Walker Die Casting in Lewisburg, and his friends at S& K Market in Culleoka.
