Mary Louise Bolen Smith, age 93, a resident of Columbia, passed away Monday, November 18, 2013 at Signature Health Care.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Plunk Funeral Home in Camden, TN with Rev. David Baker and Rev. Bob Vassar officiating. Burial will follow in Camden City Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 4-8PM at Plunk Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born in Charleston, TN on February 11, 1920, Mary was the daughter of the late Daniel Lee and Angeline Wilson Bolen and wife of the late George Smith who preceded her in death in 1996. She was of the Baptist faith and played the piano and organ at her church. She was also a member of the Victory Generation at Trace Creek Baptist Church in New Johnsonville, TN. Mary previously worked as a school teacher for forty-two years and was a member of the retired teachers association in Humphrey’s County. She enjoyed her friends.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son: Byron (Sybille) Smith of Olympia, WA; daughters: Angie (Kent) Seaton of Columbia, Charlotte (Kenneth) Hutchinson of Conifer, CO; seven grandchildren: Christina Freeman, Trevor Smith, Kord Hutchinson, Georganne Santacaterina, Ashleigh Fitzgerald, Steven Seaton, and Brad Seaton; great-granddaughter: Gwendolyn Fitzgerald; and three nieces: Nigal Legrew, Judy Allen, and Nancy Dykers.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lafferty Bolen.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Milton Troutt, and the members of the Victory Generation at Trace Creek Baptist Church.
