Anita was born September 11, 1952 in Loretto and was the daughter of the late James Autie and Stella Vanderford Cleveland. She was a 1972 graduate of Columbia Central High School and retired after 32 years as a loving caregiver with “Happy Days Playskool” in Columbia.
Momma Nita will be remembered as a loving, compassionate Christian lady who truly put others first. She would check up with friends and family, by phone, just to see how they were doing. One of her greatest gifts was making sure you received a card on special ocaissions and holidays, or if you were feeling poorly. Sometimes she would just send a card because she was thinking about you. Many friends have been blessed by opening the mailbox and finding her special gift. She shared her faith with her Christian family at the Mount Nebo United Methodist Church.
Anita is survived by her son: Adrian (Dawn) Lindsey of Columbia; 3 grandsons: Dylan Pugh, CJ Lindsey and Paxton Lindsey; 3 brothers: Donald (Laura) Cleveland of New Johnsonville, Ricky Cleveland of Columbia, and Danny Cleveland of Columbia; 4 nephews: Kevin White, Brandon Cleveland, Phillip (Wanda) Cleveland, and Jared Cleveland; and her very special friend: Carolyn “Squeaky” Busby.
Pallbearers will be Richard Peach, Dwight Humphrey, Dylan Pugh, Tony Busby, James Busby, Kevin White, and Justin Chappell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mack Hodge, Fred White, Jr., Don Derryberry, Dr. Daryl Rhineheart, MRMC Cancer Center Staff, Radiation Staff, Hospice Compassus, Past and Present employees of “Happy Days Playsckool”, Members of Maury County Fire Department, and the employees of TN Division of Forestry.
